In week 2 we were asked to research, analyse and diagram some aspects of Christchurch in relation to each other. After generation of a huge amount of research and data within a group, I decided to map where people died in relationship with amount of time it would take to walk between each place from West (inland) to the East of the city.
Each thumb-print-type shape represents a person, the pattern represents where they come from (see bottom for key). This coded system helps to veil the information, and shows the victims collectively rather than individually, meaning the diagram/memorial drawing doesn't shock so much, only conveys information.
